Achieving the Good Life for Your Self
Philosophy, psychology and major religions all agree the way to the good life and authentic happiness is througfh actively practicing the major virtues: wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, temperance, and transcendence.
Spend the week going into each virtue in-depth. We will approach our understanding of each virtue through the following means: meditation, Socratic dialogue, collage, journaling, authentic movement, and relevant films. General Info
Taking
time away from our often busy lives in order to deepen our understanding
of ourselves can be very helpful. To work intensively without
interruption affords a unique opportunity for insight and growth. To
that end, Barbara offers five day workshops for individuals or groups
that utilize a variety of tools useful for self-exploration.
Because she wants people to
follow their own course of awakening, Barbara uses a variety of
expressive arts and dynamic meditations when she works with
participants. Sand play, collage, painting, work with masks, singing,
and movement are all utilized in the service of self-exploration. In
general, a workshop focuses on one or two of these tools. When a
workshop is scheduled for an individual, it can be uniquely tailored to
suit his or her needs and interests by choosing the tools with which he
or she wants to engage.
All workshops are held in the beauty of Barbara's studio in Taos, New
Mexico. The cost is $500 per person for five days. The fee for
individual work will be negotiated depending upon how the time is
structured.
