Barbara Jones has known since she was seven years old that her calling was that of a teacher and "Spiritual Mother." In order to better fulfill that role, she obtained a B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition, a Masters degree in Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology. She has also worked extensively with spiritual teachers, attended modeling and acting schools, and studied piano, voice and dance. Barbara currently works as a self-actualization coach, has led workshops in creativity, meditation, and sand play, and taught classes on developing personal style. She is also a cabaret performer.

As a Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation volunteer, Barbara helped start the Ankur Center, the first child guidance clinic in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she teaches and trains on a regular basis. She's also actively involved with the Miss Taos Scholarship Pageant and coaches prospective Miss New Mexico contestants.   Happily married, Barbara lives and works in Taos, New Mexico. She is god-mother to two teenage boys, caretaker of four dogs and two horses, and, along with her husband, sponsors the education of seven young people in Nepal.
